A Day With The Oncologist
Well today is the day I met the doctor who will treat me if I chose to go with radiation. Dr.Jay Ciezki from the Cleveland Clinic. He started by telling me that he was giving me the Pro's and Con's of both treatments he was able to give me. He will be giving me the Radiation Pellets or Radiation. He cannot due the Surgery, or the Prostectomy, but would send me to someone who could. He said that he would like to do further testing if I so wish to see the Genetic Make-up of my cancer and the probabilities of the different cures and the chances of them working. It was a pleasure to meet such a nice Doctor who made it a point to make me feel comfortable, told me his information and then sat and listened to my questions. I don't know how the 45 minutes went with him so quick but I felt that I could make it through and really had no hesitations with the different options he was giving me. I should know in about two to three weeks about the genetic make-up and then we will sit down and decide when we are going to treat this Nasty C word and get me back on the life that I want to lead.
I had to go to the bank today and try to fix my account which has been in the red for over two months. While I am not working up until March I had a phone bill to pay. It was hard to get through each month but I made it and finally got a phone that gives me 500 free minutes and unlimited text. But this was not without consequences for I had charges in excess of $162 and when you are not making any money that is a lot. I went to see my bankers today, Ashley and Jennifer. I got to talk to Ashley who was very interested and caring as far as what I have been going through. She told me she was dating this young man of 35 and has been trying to get him to get his physicals to be up to date with his health. I told her that she should make sure that when he is 40 that he starts. If I can I will stand on a Mountain Top and shout this because if I can help anyone from finding out to late and not get the help they can at a younger age, I will do it. She said she would and then gave me a Hug. My Bank is great on the level that they really do care about the people that bank with them. I have been with my bank for 10 years and plan to be with them for a long time. Jennifer, the Manager of this Branch has been a friend with me before her beautiful children were born. We went to the same coffee shop and that is where I met her and her artistically talented husband. They now have two beautiful children and her life is happiness. I love to see when my friends are happy and content. When my friends or family say to me I am Praying or thinking of you, I believe it.
I light this candle for all those that have gone on because there cancer took them. This is to show that their life meant something and still does today. I defy anyone to not give these brave Ladies and Gentlemen a moment of silence, who are either fighting or have fought and loss this terrible disease; for they are TRUE FIGHTERS, and have the courage and strength that is made of the make-up we have as strong individuals.
